Journey towards test automation in a SaaS based scale up: Challenges and Lessons Learned A foundational component of continuous integration and delivery at scale is having a robust test automation strategy and framework. However, often start-ups go through a reality that does not allow building up the automation suite until it’s too late. Krux Analytics faced the same challenge when the business was growing and the quality assurance teammates were struggling to keep up the delivery pace with the manual testing. Everyone realized that the test automation had to be introduced but barely there was any resource or time available to build it up. In this talk, we will hear about the real life challenges Krux faced over almost four years of continuous effort to build a stable automation framework: during this period, how the QAs upskilled themselves from manual testing to automation scripts and how the overall team came forward to reduce the release cycle from two months to two weeks.
