Discover 201: Define Your Ideal Customer Persona (ICP)

by Platform Calgary

Stop building for "everyone" — define exactly who you're solving for. You've confirmed the problem is real. Now comes the part most founders get wrong: building for "everyone" instead of someone specific. A vague customer means vague messaging, vague product decisions, and outreach that never quite lands. This session picks up where Discover 101 leaves off — moving you from "I think I know who my customer is" to a defined, evidence-backed ICP you can actually build and sell around. We'll separate what you truly know from what you're still assuming, then work through the difference between an Early Adopter, an ICP, and a User Persona — three terms founders mix up constantly, but which point to three different decisions. You'll leave with a customer hypothesis specific enough to test, and a plan for testing it.
